Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello friends.

I finally have an update for you all. It has finally been confirmed that Bill has Lyme disease - late stage I'm afraid. The good news is A. his EKG was fine so his heart is all right and B. he has been started on the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds that should take care of the disease.

It has been a terrible few weeks, to be completely honest. I have never seen my husband so ill; it's been downright scary. And though Lyme is nothing to sneeze at, I'm just grateful it is something that can be treated and he *will* get better. He is already doing much better - his knee is less swollen and sore (he still needs the crutches though) and his headaches and exhaustion seem improved too.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. Along with my own, they have sustained me these past few weeks.

I want to say also, I am sorry I have not been here at the Boards much recently. I also have had kind PMs and emails from friends here and I just have not had the time to keep up. I hope now that I can let out my breath and get a little more time back these coming days I will be able to participate more. I will never again think I do the lion's share of work around here - a few weeks of doing Bill's work along with my own have proved to me just how much he helps out!

Thanks again, and God bless you all!

Oh, many, many to the both of you.

I'm thankful it is something that can be treated and that his heart is fine. What relief! I'm sure you are relieved that you finally have a diagnosis.

Do you have any idea how he got it?

You all continue to be in my prayers.

Yes, he was bitten by a deer tick back in April. I was able to date it thanks to this thread.

Thanks for the hugs and your prayers, Cay!

Oh, Dawn -- I'm sorry to hear that you all were going through this....I'm glad they've finally diagnosed and can now treat it.

I'll be praying that all continues on the upswing for you and your dh -- it can be so hard to have one parent "down" while the other is trying to keep all going.....

Blessings to you all

Oh no! But as others have said -- at least it's treatable and now you know what it is! I imagine the waiting was pretty rough. I'll continue praying for you all...

My cousin went a year and a half without a diagnosis. She lost more and more weight and got weaker and weaker. They kept telling her Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She had to go on a very long leave from work. Finally, they diagnosed the Lyme Disease (from a tick during a vacation in the Adirondacks). A very tough disease.

I'm so happy you have the answer now. Healing can begin!

Dawn,

I tried to PM you but your box is full. My dd had Lymes pretty bad 6 yrs ago. After doing the antibiotics for waay too long a time and after being bounced from dr to dr she became pain free after taking various herbs and supplements. Those little bugs are awful! and to think I used to live in the woods, blaze bike trails and hug trees and never saw one on me. The same place is now over-run with them! eeew...

Let me know if you want any of that info.

We will keep your dh in our prayers!!

God Love You!

Oh Dawn. Been thinking about and praying for you and hubby. So happy that you've got a diagnosis at last. We'll continue to pray for his complete recovery, and some rest and peace of mind for you.

Dawn, I'm so happy you have a diagnosis, but darn it what took them so long, especially when you were so concerned right at the get-go?

Praying for continued healing...lyme is no fun, and when any of the parents are sick it affects the whole family.

Big hugs...and wondering how you can write such fabulous things in your blog when you have all this on your plate? You are phenomenal!
