Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The scent lasts quite a while if you keep the canisters closed. The scents are so strong they often get into the plastic itself. I use easy to find scents though that can be recharged without much hassle regardless.

Never throw away a plastic easter egg <g> Let see, they can be:
scent canisters
sound shakers
memory games - put matching items in two eggs
matching games - put upper case letter sticker on one half and lower case on the other or any similar pair of things
Easter story manips
simple color match for toddlers
counting game - number sticker on outside and small items to pack inside
the list could go on..... ; )

Oh Kim, I like the upper and lowercase letter match up idea. I am going to try that one for Christopher (6) who does not know all of his upper and lowercase yet. I have tons of leftover eggs.

I am going to make some sound shakers as well. I like the idea of making six different ones (with matches) and storing them in the egg carton on the shelf (OCD coming out )!

OOOOOOOOOH!
Great ideas! I like the number matching one, too, as I was just lamenting yesterday that dd knows only her upper case, not her lower. Perfect!
And the memory and counting games sound great!!
Rebecca putting them into an egg carton is a stroke of genius!!
Question: What about the colors? Obviously for the letter match and the color match you would use matching colors since you are using halves, but I mean, do I put matching things in matching colors for when you are using whole eggs, like the memory game, shakers, and scents? Seems to defeat the purpose, right? What do you think?

I would intentionally mix up the colors of the halves for the matching games (other than for toddler color games) otherwise there would be no challenge. Or if you had a dollar store and a boatload of eggs available you could use all the same color eggs for each game. But no, wouldn't use matching halves or else you lose your skill challenge.

I say! You ladies are so inspirational!!! Thanks for the great ideas ... Can't wait to get started with some of those egg activities, Kim! :0) I used macadamia nut cans for our shakers --- we have a friend who travels frequently to Hawaii and always brings nuts back for us so we have tons of them around. It's fun to train your eye and your creativity to see an educational purpose in the "junk" around the house!
