Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are focusing on North America for the first couple of months. I have a St Joseph books of Elizabeth Ann Seton and Kateri Tekakwitha. I would like to do a book on Our Lady of Guadalupe if you have any recommendations. Do you know of any saints from the Caribbean or elsewhere in Central America?

Tomie dePaola's "Our Lady of Guadalupe" is our spine for that study...

I LOVE Blessed Miguel Pro from Mexico... Ann Ball has a couple good books about him. But they're probably above the level of you little ones!

I was making a mental list of highlighted/favorite saints from North America and thought I'd jot them down:

Canada:
St. Isaac Jogues
St. Jean Brebeuf
And other North American martyrs
St. Marguerite Bourgeoys
Saint Marguerite d'Youville
St. Andre Bessette

United States:
Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
Blessed Junipero Serra (and Mexico)
St. John Neumann
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
St. Frances Xavier Cabrini
St. Katharine Drexel
St. Damien of Molokai
St. Rose Philippine Duchesne

Haiti:
Ven. Pierre Toussaint

Mexico:
St. Juan Diego
Blessed Miguel Augustin Pro
Blessed Sebastian Montanol

For your children’s ages, if you’re sticking with the St. Joseph Picture books, here are the saints included.

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
Our Lady of Guadalupe
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

There are the Book of Saints series, and they include:
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
St. Isaac Jogues
Bl. Kateria Tekakwitha
St. Frances Cabrini
St. John Neumann

De Paola’s Our Lady of Guadalupe is just perfect for this age.

I was wondering if The Glory of America Series might be a good read-aloud.

I am trying to think of other collected lives of the saints that would be suitable.

Jenn's list is a good basic one of the saints and blesseds. If you want a really detailed list of all the saints/blessed/venerable/children of God for the U.S. we compiled one here a few years ago.

Saints list for different US states?

Another resource for children's stories about some of the saints/blesseds/venerables of the Americas is Treasure Chest of Fun and Fact - the archived old comic books I've shared before.

Isaac Jogues
Frances Cabrini
Kateri Tekakwitha
Elizabeth Seton
Junipero Serra
Miguel Pro

And there is a recent comic book for Bl. Solanus Casey that is very good. Scroll down gift shop page. I see there is another children's book as well and a coloring book - haven't personally seen those.
