Last year we found a beautiful picture book about a little girl in Russia or Ukraine and how they celebrated Easter, made pachsky (sp) eggs, etc.
I cannot find it on our new library's general catalog search and I cannot remember the name of the book or the author.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Lyda

Whoo Hoo! I just found it by searching some key words on Amazon.
Thank you Amazon.

Okay, my library does not have this book in its system.
And $49 for a picture book???
I'm really disappointed now.

Found it for $16 at Zondervan.

Oh No!
Out of Stock at Zondervan!
That must be why it's $49-$274 on Amazon. Is it out of print? I don't get the prices.

Easter Eggs for Anya: A Ukrainian Celebration of New Life in Christ (Traditions of Faith from Around the World)
by Virginia Kroll. Talks about Ukrainian tradition of pysanky.
I did a quick search and it does seem to be out-of-print. I didn't find many copies at bookfinder.com, either.
Try to see if you can get it through your library. But I have some other suggestions of picture books on Ukrainian eggs that might help.

I fixed the link.
We LOVE THAT BOOK!!!! Our library has it, so we don't own it.
Hoping it'll be back in print, though!

I just sent an email to the publisher (Zondervan) of the book asking about a re-printing.
If those of you interested in this book could do the same and they see there is interest, perhaps they will reprint this lovely picture book.
Thanks,
Lyda

Along this same topic, we love the book Rechenka's Eggs
There is also a Reading Rainbow episode on DVD that reads through this book and then interviews Patricia Polacco who demonstrates how to decorate the Ukrainian eggs.
