Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Erica, thanks for bumping this old thread up! And Angie, thanks for posting that list! It makes me feel not-so-bad about really relaxing here lately...that whole "tidal schooling" ebb and flow.

I've been anxiously putting my "high school plan" together for our oldest dd for the fall. I'm stressing on all the details... we just get so distracted around here (like the 2 yr old CONSTANTLY climbing on the dining table ). We're pretty relaxed around here, too. I'm grateful for IEW's writing as it is gentle yet thorough.

Hubby is mildly supportive of homeschooling high school so I feel like I have to 'prove it' to him that I can teach her all she needs to know. She really wants to go to college for nursing so I have to go college prep for her. Dd would prefer to homeschool next year and I think that is the main reason he is okay with it. He just doesn't want her to "miss out" ARGH! You see, we are high school sweethearts ~ which is one of the reasons I really don't want to send her away! I think she may have a religious vocation and I want her to have time to discern. The noise of the world is just soooo much louder. She needs to be steeped in the purity of homelife. She has enough friends in school that she gets included in their fun, too.

I am blessed to have a few close friends support this. Most of our homeschooling friends have sent their kids to high school, though, so he's not as familiar with it.

Thanks for your list, Angie! I plan on showing my sweetie this post to help him realize I'm not the only nut out there!!    I'm going to personalize that list and attach it to my "course of study checklist"!
