Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I've decided that I just want to go and live at Alice's house .

Now, that really would be great, Meredith!!!

I scrapbook regularly with my sister and my friends. We started using the conference room in my husband's office. It's perfect for 5 or 6 of us. I had a birthday party for myself there in November and we had a great time. I laughed so much that night. Next week we'll celebrate my friend's birthday there.

I think I first heard of homeschooling at a scrapbook workshop when my oldest was a baby. The Creative Memories consultant was a homeschooling mom of 5. I met another homeschooling mother of 4 who quickly became a friend of mine. My husband wasn't interested in it (HS) at all. Then when my ds was in preschool and we started talking about where to send him for kindergarten, I brought up hs again and my dh thought we should check into it as an option. That's all I needed to hear!!

I guess my point is that if you go to workshops and "hang out" with women leading many different lifestyles, you never know, you might be attracting some to yours.

This is a great point.

Gang, by the way, I'm interested in discussing another aspect of this thread. How do you feel about your social life?. . . Do you have real kindred spirits in your lives?

Well, Alice,

There are a great bunch of ladies here, but we've all immersed ourselves pretty deep into our children's lives. I think some of the ladies with teens get together for coffee.

Can I come scrapbooking, too? Your kindred spirit thing is amazing because I've just started trying to scrapbook here, but by myself--even before you mentioned it! That's funny!

I have several good friends, but we just talk after Mass. I don't get together on a regular basis with anyone.

Hmmm. . .maybe I should get out more!

Believe me, Sarah, I'd love for you to come scrapbooking. It makes sense that we all share this interest, because we are all so interested in everything our kids are doing. What better way to preserve those memories?

I spent quite a bit on scrapbooking supplies today, btw . . . .
