Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello to all of you wonderful, supportive group of women! I joined this group a few months back, only posting twice. I introduced myself then asked for prayers for my husband who was struggling with his faith. A few months later,he went to a retreat through our Church called Christ Renews His Parish. It changed his life. He is what I call "reborn" or, in his case it's more like "BORN". He came back with an amazing outlook on life and his faith. We have been able to do things I never thought he would do. We now have daily Bible readings, pray the rosary as a family and so much more. Your prayers helped!!!

Now, some of you know that this past December, I had a miscarriage. My sister, Angie McIntyre, kept you all up-to-date for me. I felt your prayers, strength and support. Thank you for everything! It was comforting to know that you were all there in prayer & thought.

So thank you, thank you! I'm off to prepare for night time routine........that includes a Bible story!!!

Elizabeth,

Thank you, again. Oh yes, I can go on and on about how I have the most wonderful sister in the whole world! I would need to start a "New Topic" for that one! I love her deeply!

I got goose bumps reading about your husband being "born." Praise the Lord! How amazing for your entire family.

And then, just to make the story more amazing, I discover you are Angie's sister. I Angie too and have been blessed enough to visit in person several times a year (I live 1.5 hours away from her). Now I know you're from a wonderful family too!!

I would to see a thread about sisters and their relationships with you and Angie as the mentors of the discussion.

I grew up with only one older brother. No sisters. Today I have a best friend who is the sister I never had. God answered all those millions of prayers I said every night in my bed (he saw the tears too) and answered me...finally. I really do have an earthly sister-in-Christ and I thank God for her daily.

But I have 3 daughters and would very much like to understand (and appreciate) the dynamics and dancing that happens under this roof.

I am glad to hear your news about your husband, too, Jenn!

I am also glad to hear you like Angie so much! I look forward to seeing her person someday....how much time should I put aside to visit her? a few days? a week? a month?

I am SO VERY SORRY!!! that you have to live so far from one another!

Take care! Thanks for posting!

I've had to say good-bye to my sister many times over the years, and every time is like the first...heart wrenching!    During this difficult time with the miscarriage how I wished I was close to not only her, but her wonderful family. I look at Dave and her four beautiful children as an extension of our strong relationship. I can't explain how special our relationship is. It is simply a gift from God that works miracles all the time! There are eight years between us, yet I have never felt like the annoying little sister. Quite the opposite. I feel bad for sisters that aren't close. Angie & I are truly blessed, and we know this!

Angie and I are always trying to find ways to live close to each other. Recently, she said "that we need to try to work towards being together for eternity" (not an exact quote). That takes a little of the sadness off of not being together on earth, but I'm still going to strive for it!!!

Me too, Cay. I grew up as the only girl--with 5 brothers. Now I am raising my crew of 5 girls and love to watch their relationships. They really are good friends to one another. I sometimes wonder if there are things we can do to encourage the lifetime friendships we want our children to experience with one another.

Gee, Jenn......you really made me What beautiful words.

Angie, you are SO wise. What a beautiful quote. I love the visual.

Instantly comes to mind Lizzie and Jane Bennett & Elinor and MaryAnne Dashwood.

I love my sisters....one makes me particularly nuts with her life choices ......but.....we have wonderful memories. I just got off the phone with my youngest sister. You and Angie are DOUBLY blessed.....because BOTH of you can think in terms of eternity. Instead of having biological sisters to share my faith with..........though my sisters have ALWAYS been respectful.....I turn to "sisters" God has provided for me.........like Willa

And Deo Gratias for Willa and the rest of those dear "sisters"

Jenn, wonderful news about your dh!!!
I'm so sorry about your miscarriage.
I've only spoken to you on the phone, regarding LLL back in PA, but I feel like I know you thru Angie.
And I do miss the days when Angie was right around the corner back in NEPA. Oh well, at least I can "see" her here!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...I'm crying onto the keyboard!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your kind words . I am so abundantly blessed and grateful. My sister and I really do have something special going on...a conduit of God's grace that is hard to describe. Her husband, my dear brother-in-law, is doing amazing things as the head of his family and an on-fire man for God in part thanks to your prayers and my sister's love. All the friendships I've made through this amazing gathering of CCM friends...wow!

All right, I'd better stop blubbering and get caught up on some posts. You've all made my day...make that my week .

Love,

Hey Cay and Irene! I've actually been thinking about this topic a bit lately. I've been thinking about what "glues" a family together. I like to believe there are things that contribute to lifelong friendships while I also see there is a lot of mystery and free will involved. I have high hopes that our faith combined with our style of home education offers lots of wonderful options and opportunities to build family unity.

As for the sister-to-sister part in particular, ask my sister...she has all the answers .

Love,
