Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...the Baltimore Catechism.

Some of you may have the Angel Food For Boys and Girls books reprinted by Neumann Press. We love them here. Each book lists a topical reference in the back of the book coordinating the stories with the Baltimore Catechism lesson they reinforce. I have wanted to pull all four of these together (from the four individual volumes) for some time now. And I did!

I put the spreadsheet up on my blog if you use these books alongside the Baltimore Catechism and they might be of help to your family! It was just too useful not to share!

Edited to add these files to the top of this thread for easier download:

EXCEL Spreadsheet
2009-05-27_095414_AngelFood_BaltC-2_lessons.xls

Here is a pdf of the file:

You all are so welcome!!! The images on my blog are somewhat blurry, so I saved the excel document as a pdf.

PM me with your email address if you'd like a copy of the excel file or a pdf.

So glad you're all able to make use of this with the wonderful Angel Food books.

It's been awhile, but I'm updating this thread with the excel file of the Angel Food/Baltimore Catechism spreadsheet because I think it will be easier to access and print this way.

EXCEL Spreadsheet
2009-05-27_095414_AngelFood_BaltC-2_lessons.xls

Here is a pdf of the file:
2009-05-27_110007_AngelFood_BaltC-2_lessons.pdf

Please drop me a line if this is helpful to your family...and especially if you find an error so I can correct it! These were a HUGE help to me last year. Not only did the subject sorting come in handy with our Baltimore Catechism lessons, but I used some of the stories to reinforce the themes within the liturgical year - the Redemption, Nativity, the Blessed Virgin in May, etc. These are gems of stories!

These may be used and copied for use within families, and you may feel free to share the link to this file, but copyright permission does not extend to the selling of this file for profit. The Holy Spirit made time for this work, and the rewards go to Him.

Thanks, Jen!!
This compilation has been SO GREAT and HELPFUL this past year! I have done the same, using them for feast days or to reinforce something that came up in conversation.

I just recently cut-and-pasted to get a reading list for First Penance and FHC prep for my dd next year.....the stories on Confession and Forgivenes, and then another list for stories having to do with the Eucharist, etc. She has her list of stories to read for next year with the vol. and page number. So helpful!

These books will get a tremendous amount of use because of your spreadsheets!!!   Thank you! Thank You! Mille Fois Merci!

Can anyone tell me what age this series is for? I have never seen them and I am unable to find the information.

Thanks,

Barb, the Angel Food books are wonderful as read-alouds from 1st grade on up. They are particularly appropriate (I think) for 2nd graders preparing for FHC through the ?? grade. I can't say really, my 7th grader enjoyed sitting and listening to them last year - the mark of a classic to me!
