Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What do you ladies think of Nathaniel Hawthorne for a 15yr old? (I've been fairly conservative until recently with what she has read)

I borrowed Scarlet Letter and Seven Gables from the library. I've skimmed through Scarlet Letter and to be honest I can't see the point, it is so depressing. Am I missing something? What do you think if Seven Gables? I haven't read it yet.

Can anyone tell me the name of the books in Lewis' trilogy?

C.S. Lewis: Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength. I love those! If she likes Lewis, then I also recommend Till We Have Faces.

Also, Dover does not abridge, but if you're looking at something that would be translated into English, the translations they choose are not always the best (in the Greek plays, for example).
