I love this book by Candace Fleming

Its great for fall with Thanksgiving (being thankful for what we have), Martinmas (children giving to the less fortunate in honor of St. Martin), and bulb planting. We've even found a way to link it to the Holy Souls. Love it!

Oh, Sarah - I love this book but my littles don't -- they think we give too much to the poor!

And it's perfect for Veteran's Day (Nov. 11 - same as St. Martin's) this month, too.

That's funny, Mary G. I wonder what they think. . .maybe that they won't have enough for their needs if you give it all away. Now don't get the idea that my kids are saints. . .

I love Boxes for Katje too! It's one of many picture books that makes me cry every time I read it.

I just had a chance to write on my blog about another book that is also about WWII relief efforts. It would be a very good one to go along with Boxes for Katje.
