Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can you share any ideas for this feast? It is also my dd's birthday - and I want to plan some special activities.

Marilyn,
Since I didn't make a mini-muffin-cupcake-rosary for Our Lady's birthday, I hope to make the cupcakes on Oct 7th. Here's the thread which suggested this: cupcake rosary

And this older thread has a lot of ideas too. (You probably saw them already!!) But, I was late to Our Lady's party and I'm hoping to use these ideas for the month of the Holy Rosary. I really liked Alice's idea of making a stained glass roasry out of tissue paper or kite paper.

I'm sorry that I don't have anything new right now to share.

There might be something with the Battle of Lepanto. This feast was first called Our Lady of Victory. The HOly Father asked for the recitation of the Rosary to win the battle against the Turks. (Late 1500's) There is a church in Rome dedicated to Our Lady of Victory. The famous statue (Bernini?) of St. Teresa of Avila is within.
