Can anyone give me a critique of the CCC animated saint videos/DVDs?

Is there anything questionable in them?
Are they true to their real lives?
Are they good? Do your dc like them?
Worth the money?

Bumping this up to get others' opinions.....

We've seen a couple of them. They are a bit "scary" for my girls....but we are VERY wimpy around here when it comes to that. Dog chases or someone being chased on a horse scares them .

The CCC videos are hits around here. We don't have all, but at least half! I can't say whether they're exactly true to the saint's life because a story line is utilized (which is probably based in fact or legend assoc. with the saint, but "filled in" I'm sure) I like it because for the littles they're a nice short introduction to the saint, and they never seem to get bored of them (even the olders will sit and watch!) - they are watched over and over. When we have friends over, I always suggest these DVDs to watch because I know their "safe" and a good reinforcement of the faith. Hope that helps!

I think the videos are good supplements for what we've learned about the saint. We learn about the saint first then watch the video rather than rely solely on the video.

The videos are cute (my daughter loves the St. Bernadette one), but there are a few intense parts --- intense for my kids. (My kids are also WAY sensitive and just know are at the point they won't close their eyes when people yell at St. Bernadette, for example.)

The stories are a little embellished for the sake of making the story fit into the 30-minute format. For example, St. Patrick has some redheaded twins help them out. And St. Nicholas has an adopted slave-turned-free citizen as his buddy. It's more like a slice of historical fiction than straight-up history, but yet more than just fiction. Dude, did that even make sense to anyone?
