Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone make a recommendation of a really nice picture book or even an illustrated biography of St. Therese? My DD4 is in love with this saint and is always talking about her and trying to be like her. I would love to get her a nice book. She learned about her in our Catholic Treasure Box books.

Our favorite picture book is The Little Flower of Jesus by Sister Julita, reprinted by Neumann Press. It's expensive, and long for a picture book, but we love the illustrations.

A couple of others you might consider:

A Story of Saint Therese by Brother Ernest, reprinted by Mary's Books

St. Therese in Jesus' Garden by Anne Neuberger from the Saints for Children series that Our Sunday Visitor puts out.

We just love the Catholic Treasure Box books, too!

At age 4 I found the Catholic Treasure Books the best presentation for St. Therese.

A little older and Pauline Books has a chapter book.

If you can find an inexpensive copy, there is a book Photo Album of Saint Therese of Lisieux which is really wonderful to show the child how "real" St. Therese was -- having photographs really helps.

My three and a half year old loves Saint Therese and is constantly pretending to be "Marie Therese." I ordered this book for her for Christmas, and just found it hiding in a drawer. It looks really good to me!

Oh yes, that's the new Ignatius Press picture book in that series they are printing. I'm hoping to see it. RedSoxWife, would love to hear a review of it when you read it with her.

Thanks for the reminder about this! I will have to try and request my library to carry it. I knew there was some other new book I wanted to remember!
