I'm looking for folders (like the kids use) with the side pockets (not just bottom pockets) so that stuff doesn't fall out regardless of the way the folder ends up.
But I want pretty ones.
I need at least 4.
I've been trying to come up with a system that will work for me for the committees I'm on so I need them to be able to travel, to hold loose papers I've printed off and to hold paper for taking notes. BUT I don't want a binder and hole punch.. I tend to want to be able to take notes and set out the printouts.. calendar or information we're refering to while taking notes. I think the best "system" for me will be these folders and the legal pads of paper (in 8.5x11) the paper won't be "pretty" but it'll be easy to leave the pages flipped over, or if I need to refer to one a lot I can tear it loose.. I can use it to take notes without a table at need too.
But I decided that I really need pretty folders that look pretty next to each other so that I am encouraged to put them all back together on the shelf.. plus being able to spot them in the midst of the rest of the "stuff" if they don't get put back.
I have Amazon Prime so it would be great to find them there, but I am flexible. But just looking for them, I can't tell what the pockets are like.
Please help.

Sorry Jodie, no help here. I usually just look for that sort of thing at Staples or Walmart. I just wanted to say that the comment above is so "me" though!!

I hear ya on the pretty. Pretty is so important to me. Having said that, there are some plastic folders with pockets that also have a tab on the upper corner so papers won't fall out. I was so impressed with the addition of these tabs!

I decided to go with *cheap* to start with and make sure what I want to put in the folders will fit and it'll all work like I think.. then I'll have the opportunity around Thanksgiving to get to a bunch of stores I don't normally have access to, and maybe I can go look in person.

Typing one handed so I won't link, but Paper Source and Vera Bradley have cute pocket folders,if not an extensive Ssortment.
For what you describe, you might prefer a document wallet. Cath Kidston has some cute designs of these, some in sets of 2 and others in sets of 4. The description is slightly different, but both types seem to function the same way.

A thought... can you make them? Or perhaps make a pretty pouch to hold your regular folders than can zip shut, and then it would prevent spilling papers.
I like what you're describing, I think it's a fabulous idea, I can't say I've ever seen one though.
