Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Saw Barb's post about 5th grade and thought I'd start one for 3rd. I'd love to hear what you guys are planning for your 3rd graders! We are headed out to piano lessons but I'll post my thoughts (so far.. still working through some things) when we get home.

We just finished up third grade. We used:

- Math Mammoth 3
- Life of Fred (F, G, H, and he is doing I and J over the summer)

- Mara Pratt's American History Stories Vol. 1 and 2
- Various picture books covering early American History up to the end of the Revolutionary war.

- Outdoor Secrets and the Companion
- BFSU

- St. Joseph's Catechism 1
- Liturgical picture books

- Poetry for Young People: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

- Paddle to the Sea
- Minn of the Mississippi
- Uncle Josh's Outline Maps

- Drawing Textbook

- Opal Wheeler composer books

- Prima Latina

- Bonjour Les Amis French DVDs
- Other CDs and books to start learning French

(I combined a lot for my 1st and 3rd graders, so things like science were a little behind).
