Anyone use anything like this? I found this one at the HSLDA site:
My School Year
I started looking b/c my oldest will be HS next year and I do NOT keep good records. And this isn't just for my HS'er but could be used for all my kiddos. Little snippets of paper here and there or even if I put it all in a box, to reproduce it in a written format would be difficult. Plus I don't really have a written record of some of their activities, field trips, projects etc. I like that I can enter the info here in re to the books she's read, awards, volunteer work, standardize tests. I *could* even make lessons plans like Mackfam's fabulous plans but I've never been able to create a program "good enough". I have very, very basic which isn't helping now that I have 3 "students" and a very busy toddler. I really need more accountable and really love the idea of having this record.
So, anyone use this or something like it?

We've used this grade-reporting service for years, because it came with the umbrella school we initially used, when we lived in TN and that was part of the legal arrangement. When we moved, I just kept my $20/year subscription to the reporting service, because I had records there, including activity portfolios for each of my children.
I know you don't *have* to have something like this, but as a disorganized person who loses pieces of paper, I have found it very helpful over the years, particularly when it comes to gathering information for college applications. The service will generate an "official" transcript with calculated GPA and credit-hour totals, which again is just very helpful. I didn't submit my oldest daughter's portfolio as is, but I did use it to construct a narrative transcript to accompany her applications, as well as the short "official" transcript.
Anyway, yes, it's been worth the twenty bucks to me to have this service. I'm not hung up on recording grades for my younger kids, but once they hit seventh grade, I do start giving letter grades and keeping up more carefully with what they've read and done, much of which can contribute to high-school course credits. The last time college-application time came around, I was very, very glad I had done this and it was all in one place. My next child wants to apply to a service academy, so I am being even more proactive about record-keeping, not only of grades and academic work, but also of anything else he does which would contribute to the strength of his application.
The site also has a lesson-planning function, but I've never found it that useful. Somebody else might, though.

I have been playing with an app Homeschool Tracker. It is simple, just wish could be more vigilant in entering information

Oh, I should have added -- I typically add info 2 or 3 times a year. I do semester grades, though you can set up your year any way you like, and I usually just add any portfolio info when I'm entering those, unless something really big and special happens, like making Eagle Scout. Something like that I would enter right away, so that I have the date right.
I don't enter everyday work, test grades, etc. There is a place to enter standardized test scores, but I haven't used that, either.

I'll check yours out Sally. The other one is $33/yr. I'm def. not looking for daily/weekly to update b/c I know for sure I just wouldn't do it. Also, considering my son is not strong academically I want to be able to record his piano, baseball and Scouts information which of course includes all his fundraising (he is a little entrepreneur) and volunteer hours etc. Whether he goes to college or not, I need a record of where his strengths are.
Now for the oldest, I def. need that grade tracking b/c I'm sure she's college-bound some day.

I use Homeschool Skedtrack. It's free and it works for us, although my daughter isn't in high school. It is a bit of work to enter all the lesson plans, but I will add plans once a month or every two weeks, depending on my schedule. Here it is:

I like the fact that you can add items even if you only do a subject (like geography) for six months, and that there are spaces for extracurricular things like sports teams, dance classes, etc.
