Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought I had found the "perfect" solution to utilizing some vertical space but alas, apparently I didn't according to my title. I purchased two different products for use in our schooling day and both had grommet holes at the top for hanging. Since we're limited with wall space I was going to put one on the side of our kitchen cabinet and another on the side of my computer/school room desk. I purchased those 3M command hooks b/c I didn't want something permanently affixed to these things. We've used these hooks before and they're great for their purpose, however after installing them, our daily schedule and the file folder thing-y won't lay flat against the surface.   They both stick out quite obtrusively and I don't know any other type of hanging hardware I can use that will keep them mounted without permanently damaging either cabinet.

Ideas?!?!

You could keep the hooks you have and add Command Poster Strips along the sides and/or bottom to keep the file close to the surface you have them hanging from. They're quite strong but easily removed, with no damage. The ones we have come in packs of 8, but I think they come in different sizes and amounts. I found them in the hardware section, where picture hanging supplies are.

I did get the regular hooks and saw the picture hangers on-line so I might check those out.

The poster strips would possibly work on the file folder thing but the schedule is dry erase and so I take it off each day to re-do our schedule which is why the hooks seemed so "easy". Right now I've just been propping it up on the counter but of course it gets knocked over which is why I wanted it hanging...and in a prominent place to remind us all where we're to be at a given time of the day.
