I was so happy about my son's comment this morning, I had to share. He was explaining (unprompted, I might add) to his father and me what his science lesson had taught him about evolution. He is learning about what scientific evidence supports or does not support evolution. He said, "That's why I love homeschooling, because I get the whole truth."

I don't know if I should be more pleased that he said he loves homeschooling or that he said he loves getting to the truth. This child and I butt heads over other school subjects, but science he does eagerly. Don't want you to think it's a breeze with him all the way around Plus I believe that's what adds to my happiness to have heard these words from him this morning. Thanks for listening!

P.S. He chose Biology this year and I chose Apologia.

Sure is a reason to keep homeschooling

I have to thank Sherry on this forum. I admired her avatar and she offered to help size my chosen icon of the Theotokos (I've heard this called tender loving care because Jesus and Mary are cheek to cheek here) to proper avatar size.

Devin and I were talking recently about the scientific method in general terms; strengths, weaknesses, where it can be applied, where it can't. Just listening to her think this through and give examples...watching the lightbulbs go on and connections being made...what a thrill!
