Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Stange title I know! But, I am coming up with a list of movies based on literature and history that dd can watch before taking the SAT and tackling the SAT essay in June. As we read about and practice writing the essay it came to me that watching some movies will provide her mind with possible examples to use. We are reading "How to Write a Killer SAT essay. . . " and love the idea of having examples already thought of that could be used with most prompts. Anyway here's what I have so far and PLEASE add your own!

Buying or renting:
Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh version)
To Kill a Mockingbird (Gregory Peck)
The Grapes of Wrath (Henry Fonda)
Jobs (about Steve Jobs)
Jane Eyre (2011)

Already have:
Lilies of the Field
The Blind Side
The Help
A man for all seasons
The Miracle worker
Anne Frank
Miracle

Want to find dvd's on:
FDR
Elenor Rossevelt
Susan B Anthony
Martin Luther King
Any other accurate literature to film adaptation

Any ideas or thoughts or suggestions!!!

Barbara-

This is a very intriguing idea.
This thread: History dvds that rock your world has some really great titles in it. You might find some good ideas there.
