Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any one send a Mrs. Fields cookie cake to the child in a dorm? If so, did it arrive in one piece and fresh? I know it sounds lazy - but I was thinking of sending a Mrs. Fields cookie cake instead of making, packaging and sending my own for ds's birthday.

Don't know if it would work out sending it to a dorm, but not sure why it wouldn't be any different then picking up any other package he may get.

I have never sent a Mrs Fields cake, however, back in 1983 my mom sent me a birthday cake to my dorm and all these years later I still remember it. It did arrive in one piece. And I don;t recall any problems with the cake being stale, and I'm sure however it was shipped back then was a lot slower than what's available now.
I was s o surprised to get that cake from my mom ( I lived 500 miles from home).

I think I will make brownies and cookies myself! I thought it is easier to send something myself to make sure it gets there a day before or the day of his birthday then if I send Mrs. Fields.

Now - to pack them to make sure they arrive in one piece!

So, Do I pay the extra to send next day so they are fresh?

Pringles containers (empty) are great cookie protectors. They should keep the cookies fresh for a few days. (This is a favorite military wife/mom trick!)

I would wrap brownies in wax paper, then in foil.

If they're quasi-fresh, he will eat them. Trust me.

My college roommate got lots of care packages from home. There was always a tin of cookies with a piece of bread in it. One day I asked why the stale piece of bread was thrown in with the cookies and she said it kept the cookies fresh. I don't know why it works but it seemed to do the trick.
