Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for wonderful ways that you high school moms/dads have found to keep records of things your child has done.

I use SCMO (Simply Charlotte Mason's Organizer)for our daily books. I love it and it has worked well for us for years. So keeping those is not an issue. If they "read" it or I have it planned all year it's there and I can print an entire report at any time with what they have done or are doing.

What I am talking about is more the stuff that comes up and isn't "planned". Example - we watched a biography on Davy Crockett, and went to a class on Raising Healthy Families. I want to keep records of these type of things but need an effective way to do it.

Do you do find: 1. Just buying a calendar each year just for these things works well? Just making notes on the date? 2. Do you find a notebook with each child's name works best? OR 3. Have you found a more efficient way to keep track of this?
Suggestions and comments would be very appreciated.

This might depend on your states laws about record keeping - here in Texas there are NO laws about record keepin. I keep records I will need for college applications.    In high school I keep records so 1. I can have a transcript! 2. I write up course descriptions (general type description) and 3. my child can create a resume if needed. So the only extra things I might keep track of are volunteering, church activities, extra curricular stuff (sports, art class. . . ) and jobs. For each class I keep records of grades, books/materials used.

I find that keeping track of every little thing too time consuming. But maybe your state requires it

Each week I hand dd 14yrs a simple list of the weeks assignments. After that week - it gets thrown away. I even will delete it from my computer after a while.
