Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son will be starting high school soon and has chosen Spanish for his foreign language. I have no experience with Spanish. I've heard that some of the computer programs are deficient in grammar instruction. I know some have chosen to have their language completed at a community college. There is a possibility we will go this route, but I would like to hear if anyone has used a Spanish textbook or program that has worked well for them.

Thanks,

Been happy with Rosetta Stone Homeschool and I think there are some sales going around this time of year. I know there were previous discussions on different programs so you may find an old thread useful--the homeshcool version does have an optional workbook that can be printed out in addition to the online instruction.

We are trying Visual Link Spanish. My son is working his way through the free sample lessons (I think there are 11 of them) and seems to be memorizing it easily. He's enjoying it. (I tried talking him into Latin or French or Russian. . .no deal. Sigh. I think the only Spanish I know is "Pronto." LOL)

Homeschool Buyer's Co-Op has 20% off on Rosetta Stone right now.

Check your local library, too, if it has online access. Our library just purchased Mango, which is a foreign language program that is free for library patrons. I haven't used it yet, but it would be nice to test out a free resource before spending a lot of money on something like Rosetta Stone.
