We are trying to find a college for my son. He is majoring in computer science or engineering. I am looking for information on people's experiences or recommendations on both Catholic colleges or secular colleges with good Newman centers. Also, if anyone has any feedback on the University of Notre Dame we would be interested in that too. Thank you

My son is a freshman at ND now. He's a liberal arts guy (leaning towards history/anthropology/Irish studies at the moment -- They can't declare as freshman, and don't have to declare until the end of sophomore year), so I can't help you with academic program specifics, but I'd be happy to give you feedback in any other area where you have questions. For what it's worth, his perspective is as a non-drinking, outspoken, faithful, practicing Catholic who hasn't yet done a ton of "joining" into campus ministry activities other than Freshman Retreat. In full disclosure, my husband and I met at ND as freshmen, but I'll give you the good as well as the bad.

Maura-
My son, like yours, is a non drinking, outspoken, faithful Catholic, - I would be very interested in your perspective! I think there is a way on this website to send info to a private box if you did want to post publicly. We would really appreciate any info as my son is seriously considering attending there! thanks!

A dear friend of mine will attend Notre Dame for a BS level internship this summer. He's a physics major. I'm sure he would be glad to share his experience.
Love,

Yes, in each post there is a button that says "pm" and has a picture of an envelope to Private Message a particular member. You can also hit "Private Messenger" on the blue bar at the top of each page.

I went to grad school at ND and later taught German there. I was much older than a freshman when I got there, but all my experiences there have been wonderful.
