Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone used/using this? How did you figure out which problems to assign? Did you buy the TM?

I have the book as my kids LOVED Jacobs and he reccomended this after- but the TM and solutions manual are out of price range right now.

Haven't started using this yet, but we will use the Kolbe plans to figure out what problems to do.

The teacher manuals are expensive aren't they? I managed to get the teacher manual second hand via a homeschool forum, but we're not in the US.

Hope you can find a second hand copy soon...

We found this text to be very difficult...and eventually undoable. Not to be too negative here, but truthful. Both boys who attempted the text went on through college with math and engineering degrees. So it wasn't the lack of enthusiasm. The text is equivalent to college algebra/trig and so we ended up letting them take the class at college as high school students. However, I had absolutely no time or expertise in this area to help them, so maybe that would have made a difference. However, they both enjoyed Forester's Algebra 1.

My dd who wants to be a math teacher is doing ok with it so far- but she is only a few weeks in. I will keep your opinion in mind.

My son, who is not mathy, and has done the Jacobs books (which sure look good after the Foerster's ), is going to work on Mathematics a Human Endeavor for his last math credit. The library has it here and I just can't fork out the money for another Algebra 2 book (I was looking at Math U See, but Oh my! they have gotten more expensive since we last used them!). This child won't be going into the sciences/math field as far as we can see so this should work fine!
