My oldest daughter has asked me to find a pen pal for her. She is looking for someone to write to...with real pen and paper. She wants to avoid internet connection with this pen pal. She just wants to have old-fashioned correspondance. She has been inspired by literature she has lately read.......to do this.

Her name is Anne

She is 22.5 years old.

She is in her senior of college, studying English literature and teaching English (the subject, not the language).

She has a devout Catholic faith.

She is not boy crazy.

I am going to guess that the best type of pen pal would be:

female (though male not ruled out)

one who is like the Anne of Green Gables kindred spirit type

strong in her faith

and it would probably be someone who loves to read.

It might be nice for them if they both come from a homeschooling background.....but not totally necessary.

She might look at the wonderful blog:

Which is done by several girls around her age, in college and who are delightfully Catholic. Perhaps she might find someone there with whom she might correspond?

Thanks, Ann! I just got back here to check this thread and saw your note. You have no idea how loud I chuckled when I read it.

One of my daughter's best friends created this site that you linked to. In fact, she and that friend, were pen pals for about two years before they met in person. They have been best friends for about 11.5 years.

I am best friends with this same girl's mother. Just had a long chat tonight as a matter of fact.

It IS a wonderful site...and one of my daughter's other pen pals became another best friend and is also a contributor to the site.

Ann, my daughter will be pleased with the lovely compliment about the blog. You were exactly right, they are just the type of girls that Chari's Anne would love to correspond with!
