Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am researching and thinking and praying and preparing for the big discussion with dh--who isn't researching and thinking
The options for high school and education are amazing. I am leaning towards using a Clonlara type school. But that can change after the big discussion.
I have a big worry with "schools" and that is logging hours. I know for our online public schools you can log the number of hours they give for a lesson--even if it takes 15 minutes for your student.
My ds cannot do math for 45 minutes to an hour a day. The most number of problems I have ever given him is, maybe 20. So, if I need to log hours it is going to be very stressful. Very rarely does math take more than 30 minutes. I am wondering how this might work.
So, if anyone logs hours now, or has used Clonlara, or the other school in Maine, and can help me figure out if this will work for us and be fairly low stress I'd appreciate it.

We've logged hours for high school (and will be doing so again this fall).

Is there a "finish the book" option? Our previous umbrella allowed you to use less than 120 hours if you finished the textbook.

The thing to think about, though, involves more than hours. High school math is just more difficult than middle school math. It does take time to read through/teach/watch the lesson (and that time counts in the hours you log) as well as to do the problems. My dd is doing Algebra 1 right now and it often takes her half an hour just to read the material. It's pretty hard to skip this part of the process, and it's not possible to skip all the problems either. Maybe you could split the math into two shorter sessions per day?
