Well,I just wanted to share that after many months of searching and reading TONS of Greek history books, I have finally found it! A truly readable Greek history at the high school level!
The Greeks; A Great Adventure by Isaac Asimov (Yes, THAT Isaac Asimov).
Picked it up at the library and am totally thrilled. This book is definitely the missing link between the too juvenile Usborne and Famous Men books and the more Ponderous Oxford histories. It is scholarly yet readable. I think Charlotte Mason herself would approve!
I will definitely be incorporating it into ds's studies as it is just the ticket. I wish I had found it sooner, but better late than never!
So sad that it is out of print, but I recommend searching your libraries for it.
