Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anybody done a Chemistry lab at home?

my dd took a Chemistry lab at our local college but was not able to take the lab due to a schedule conflict. Has anybody done a lab at home? Can you point me to a good resource?

Thanks,

We've done it for 3 different children using Jay Wile's Exploring Creation with Chemistry. Now, I know not everyone is crazy about that series, but the labs are very workable. The chemicals used as reagents are all household supplies (things like bleach, toilet bowl cleaner, drano), and you can order a set of glassware for around $50-60.

Peace,
Nancy

We used the same series that Nancy did, with good results.

Homescience sells a mini lab that is correlated to many of the high school chemistry texts used - including Prentice Hall, and Apologia. The booklet that correlates the lab to the chapter does tell you a bit about what the lab is about. I'd think that would be a good starting place.
