Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This may be the wrong forum and I apologise if it is.

My friend is the Spiritual Life coordinator for our parish school and she is looking for a dynamic speaker to talk with middle schoolers about their faith.

A couple of the moms have suggested a speaker that will really get the kids 'on fire for Christ' but this guy is Baptist. My friend is urgently looking for someone else to suggest and quickly get a good Catholic alternative.

If you have any suugestion please PM or even note here on the board. We are in the Atlanta area.

So are they looking for local or willing to bring someone in from outside the area?

Shoot, I typed a response and it was eaten in cyber space!

The guy that was suggested is from out of town so I guess it would be ok. This is the suggested speaker: Rob Bell

he is involved with some short films that look interesting and thought provoking, but my friend really wants a Catholic speaker/program, being that it is a Catholic school and all.

Unfortunately, I don't have any information on speaking fees and such.

My first thought was to recommend Chris Stefanick - up and coming youth speaker, very highly regarded in the field. He is local and I can personally attest to his awesomeness (and his family has been in our homeschool group). He has alot of chastity talks which isn't what you are looking for so look at the other talks like "Are You Thirsty?" and "The Power of the Mass."

Other names I have heard recommended recently are:
Todd Lemieux
Chris Padgett
Jesse Romero

And I agree with your friend - I think it's important to have a Catholic speaker to get them fired up about being a Catholic Christian.
