I've got 2 in CC this year. Challenge B and Challenge II. We are enjoying the program. Challenge II is reading State of The Arts. There are some anti Catholic paragraphs in Ch. 4. I spoke to the teacher and have written a paper in defense of the Faith. It turns out she knows the author's daughter and will be forwarding my comments to him.
The hard part for DD is that his statements are false (Medieval Catholics worshiped Mary, etc.)and that all her classmates now believe everything he said was true.
How are you handling this?

will follow with interest, as we are using CC Foundations at home. (A lot of work for me, but we're loving it!)

We did Challenge II last year. This year I have a dd in Challenge III and a ds in Challenge A. Last year teacher was a Catholic so she make sure those type of statements were corrected. We actually haven't encountered many Anti-Catholic stuff. Our main problem has been their approach to science. We have really enjoyed the program.

Natalia,

What problem do you have with their approach to science? DD#2 is doing Bio in Challenge II and DD#3 is researching great scientists and understanding the contributions to science in Challenge B.

BTW, the Challenge II teacher was very excited to get my paper defending my faith on Friday. I haven't heard any comments from her yet, but am very interested in opening up a dialogue. I didn't really "write" a paper. I figured the author would only think I didn't "really" understand my Church or history, so I simply quoted the Catechism, The Faith Explained and Beginning Apologetics.
