Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Which do you have dc use and for which subjects. Why and how used as well. I am trying to start the kids year right and thinking through this this year (for 11th and 6th grader. So, I would love to hear what works at your house (not at comm. college - but for at home subjects).

Thanks!

For the past couple of years, notebooks have proven to work much better for us than binders. I have a feeling the trend will continue. I got ds a really cool waterproof lab notebook for our marine biology course. I want one for myself!LOL!

Theresa, Thats good to hear. My oldest likes notebooks better too. I think I may have him keep a binder for history and science though as a way to keep track of where his tests and assignments are although he can still have a note book for labs, and taking textbook notes amd things. He is messy and loses things in the mess! I like that binders will help him focus on keeping things in one place. I want to start giving him midterms and finals in these courses just to prep for college and keeping past test and things in one spot may be a good idea! But for math and his physics problems we do like the notebooks.

I like that notebook - I just might have to have one of my kids take marine bio just so we can have one!!

I use a *lot* of three pronged report covers instead of notebooks. I use this method of holding notes because I have a tendency to rewrite and reorganize my notes. Since I do it, I've just bought more for my children's use.

Fill one with the appropriate paper, add a couple of sheet protector pockets to hold loose paper and you have an adjustable notebook with space to file loose paper.

[ I also use them to hold everything that I print off (multiple report covers and a sturdy three hole punch are a fast and cheap way to bind printed material).]

The only problem we currently have is finding the one we want out of the dozen or so currently in our in-current-use bookcase. I think I need to tag them with colored tape.

We use binders for our Book of Centuries and sketchbooks for art but otherwise we use report cover 'notebooks'.

We use loose leaf and I have a finished drawer for each child (sterilite plastic drawer that are 8.5x11 3 drawers high). I put a child's name on each. For us it was taking to long to find the lost notebook and maybe it was the binders I was buying but they would get dropped on the floor and all the papers would be spilled out.
