Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm curious about their albegra and physical science courses....

presuming I get a landfall of funds and could actually afford them...

are they any good? how much do they work with the student? how much work would I need to put into it?

thanks!

Depends on the student. If a child (like my daughter) already has math issues, and isn't a good self-starter (ie, independent learner) then RCA math/science will be difficult. There isn't a lot of one-on-one instruction. My daughter did abysmally in this course (HOWEVER, she did excellent in the RCA Humanities course). It was only when we sent her to summer school, with a real math teacher in the flesh right in front of her that she became an "A" math student. This isn't to say that the RCA teacher wasn't enthusiastic about her subject (Mrs. Harrison is) or that she was unavailable (she was) but email is not the same as working WITH the teacher on a drawing board to get the answer and understand the process.

On the plus side, RCA integrates math and science, making both easier to learn and retain. For a student already comfortable with math, its most likely a good fit.

Hope this helps!

Peace,
Macmom
