Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,

I'm trying to plan ahead for my ds, who is going to need a very specific kind of school.

He has Asperger Syndrome and is a whiz at science and math, but really struggles with writing and verbal expression. I am so glad we are homeschooling so that we can work on both these strengths and weaknesses, but I don't see him going to a liberal arts college that involves a ton of literature and writing (my idea of heaven, but not his!).

I have been looking at small engineering schools to get an idea of how to prepare him. He will need a small school, and he will probably need to live at home for at least the first couple of years (I know a lot of the Catholic schools require living on campus, and I appreciate their reasons, but it would probably not be possible for him). We are able (at this point) and willing to move so that he can live at home during college.

He doesn't *have* to go to an engineering school...but a small Catholic school with strong math and/or science, and without long mandatory reading lists, would be wonderful.

If anyone knows of anything off the top of her head, please let me know. Thanks!

Amanda,

If you hear of such a place, let me know! Unfortunately, all the small Catholic colleges I have learned about are an exact mismatch for my ASD dc.

In Christ,
