Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking at individual subject areas for high schoolers. I was looking more at a "total program" and had all but decided on an internet based one--until some factors indicated to dh and I that we need to further limit computer access for ds, not increase it. Which is sad as that option seemed to fit well in many ways, but he just has not shown us that level of trustworthiness re. the internet. My son does, however, like things that are very structured. He is 13 but ready for 9th grade level work, and we are PROBABLY going to pull him from school during xmas break. So now is the research time.

I have seen some neat looking curriculums covering literary analysis by James Stobaugh, "SMARR" (though this might have a strong reformation theology bias???), and one by Lesha Myers called "Windows to the World". Has anyone tried any of these?? If so, what was your experience?

I am also looking at individual curriculum for English and History. The Notgrass history looks interesting. Has anyone had experience with that?

For English---? We have never done a really thorough grammar program. 9th grade might be the year. Anyone have anything they were particularly enthused about?? I wish grammar programs weren't so . . . . . stupefyingly boring. At least they could use interesting sentences (in my opinion!) The "Stewart" English program sounds interesting, but I have never known anyone who actually used it.

I think I'm ok as far as math and science (probably Apologia and Life of Fred). But for the rest of the subjects, any input anyone has is welcome!
