Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dh works for the Intercollegiate Studies Institute who has published an essay format college guide for several years now, Choosing the Right College.

He is the project manager for the new web based version of the guide CollegeGuide.org

OF course there is info to purchase, but there are also a lot of free resources as well, including Entry Requirements for Home School Students at 30 Schools and Universities (which could also give you an idea for other schools). They also plan to expand the site soon to include wiki based entries on the schools not featured on the site.

My husband met with the donors who funded the website this week and practiced his presentation on me repeatedly the night before--and I kept thinking, I need to post it on 4Real! I hadn't even visited the site myself and I didn't know about the home school stuff before.

On a side note, the donors are billionaires who home school! Dh said it was interesting to visit them at their incredible estate only to chat with them about home schooling and realize that they do it for the same reasons every one else does! I kept joking with him that there should be a show "Home Schools of the Rich and Famous" Wouldn't that be something to see?

Anyway, the site also has some free downloads of students guides to the major disciplines (and others you could purchase, of course)--some even have audio versions.

My dh doesn't benefit directly from visits or sales (though, I'm sure its good for morale to report high numbers . Just didn't want it to seem I was spamming or anything.

Thank you for posting this, Lindsay!

Our first exposure to homeschoolers were also to billionaires who homeschool. Their kids were articulate and just impressed us as young adults who had direction and knew where they were going. We had to get us some of that! Our own homeschooling journey has taken many twists and turns (and our goals have morphed from the secular notion of "success" to something else) but they were very traditional folks who put God, country and family first before anything else and we learned so much from them. They really inspired us to take our first homeschooling steps.

I'm printing out from the homeschool requirements section as I type this. Thank you so much again!
