Hey folks! I thought it might be fun and informative (especially for new or nervous homeschoolers) to keep a running list of colleges or careers that the children in this group have chosen. I understand the need for privacy, so if you want to keep the info anonymous, you can PM or email me and I'll just post the info without names.
So, for the list, you could send me the year the student graduated from homeschool, and where he or she is now, what he or she is studying, etc. Otherwise, post here and I'll keep the list updated in this first post.

Hi,
I am mostly a lurker but I have a 2008 grad who will be attending The Ohio State University on a Navy ROTC scholarship. We began homeschooling when he was in 6th grade and we used Elizabeth Foss" Transitions Trails for 9th and 10th grade.

My oldest son graduated in 2007 and is attending Gannon University (PA) for Electrical Engineering and is presently in Australia for WYD!!!

I think we can include any graduates who have been homeschooled in a "4Real" way, even if they went to high school...The elementary years have a great influence on the future of our children's education.

So, Leonie...how does that work into graduation dates (arbitrary, I know, but I'm trying to organize the list a bit).
'98, '01, '02, '07?

Wow - great idea and great job all you mom-teachers!
Please encourage your graduates to contribute something about their experiences for our feature "The Graduates Speak" in mater et magistra magazine.
The current issue features a piece by Michael Foss on his experiences as a mentor for troubled youth. Our theme for the issue is "hope" and I thought Michael's experience showed that as long there is hope of helping even one person, all our efforts are worth it.
The theme of the next issue is "joy" and some of these careers scream joy to me. Maybe your children are homeschooling their own children; that would be cool to hear about, too.
God bless
Margot

We have a just graduated (June of 2008) son (our oldest) who will be home this year, working toward making money to go to college, and getting his car, and will also work on the 3 novels he's been writing since 9th grade. He's working on writing music as well. He'll also work on some career planning, as he still hasn't found what field he wishes to enter at this time.
His plans are to enter community college in the Fall of 2009, going for two years, then to transfer to a 4 year college after that. This plan is to save money on attending college, and hopefully not being in very much debt by the time he comes out, something that's very important to him.

Our oldest child, dd, just graduated and is pursuing a religious vocation. She is unsure yet which order she wants to join. Still searching that. I will keep everyone posted about that.

Our oldest daughter(2005) just graduated from Franciscan University and is currently employed as an admissions counselor there.
Our second daughter(2007) attends West Virginia University for piano performance.
Yes, there is a vast difference in the two schools but the WVU education came with a full scholarship!
