Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi!
I still feel the need for DS (entering grade 9) to have a spelling book or program. What are your favorite spelling ideas for high school level. I have never looked at spelling power - not too sure what sort of study activities it used, it almost sounds as if the parent chooses from the hands on activities listed in the manual. I really want something that I don't have to choose what he will do day to day.

Hope this makes sense.

My kids really enjoyed the Wordly Wise books. I think book 6 would be about 9th grade level. My daughter would complete the daily assignment in the workbook and could even correct it herself using the answer key. She told me it developed her vocabulary well this past year.

Thanks,
I too like wordly wise but have also used a spelling book along with it for my kids. I though of finding a list of commonly misspelled words and going through that during high school. Most spelling work book series seem to only go through 8th grade. Except spelling power which I have not tried.

I was going to use Spelling Workout G for my two olders. I notice they have latin and greek roots. You can look inside them at Christian Book Distributers. Sorry I didn't link it for you---not capable yet.

Blessings.
