Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am hoping to teach a debate class for the high schoolers in our co-op this fall. Does anyone have a resource for this? I saw a book and video on the HSLDA website called An Introduction to Argument and Debate and was wondering if anyone has an opinion of this particular resource.

Thanks so much!

We have organised debating groups and have found it helpful to contact state or national debating organisations. We found that they offer helpful materials and another mother and I also attended a free workshop for debating coaches.

Now, I know I live in Australia so I can't point you to resources, but I am sure ( or hope) there must be similar debating organisations in the US.

Molly,
The folks at HSLDA really know what they are doing and the homeschoolers sponsored by them in national tournaments are causing quite a stir! I'd say their resources are top-notch.
