I am so happy to report that our son, Billy, received an offer of acceptance to the US Naval Academy yesterday!! This is the same Billy who twelve years ago, when I stated homeschooling him, could barely look someone in the eye when they shook his hand. We are all so proud of him. He will report for Plebe Summer June 27th! Please remember him (and me!) in your prayers.

I've got a soft spot for Annapolis--my dh is a West Point grad, and our first date was the Army-Navy Game!

Elizabeth, we better start buying out the kleenex from Costco since this is just the beginning! I am so not prepared for this. I am trying to prepare spiritually so that my emotions will be ready as well.

Oh Maria, this is such wonderful news! I can just picture how handsome Billy is going to look in that uniform. But how is it possible that he is old enough to wear that uniform?!
I'm so happy for him and you and your dh. What an accomplishment! I will keep all of you in my prayers as you head towards this new transition.
At least Annapolis is not as far as Dallas...
PS I originally posted this under Elena's username. Good thing I noticed. I can't imagine how embarrassed she would have been, considering that comment about Billy's good looks.
