Not sure this is the right forum but at what age is the book appropriate? The premise doesn't sound appealing to me at all so I haven't read it but of course it's all the talk since the movie came out so wondering what others who typically hold similar values to me would think of this book.
Thanks,

My 14 year old dd read it. I wouldn't use it for any younger. But thought 14 was a good starting age. She read all 3 books in about 5 days!

It's been mentioned in the 2012 booklist thread. Mainly that the books are good for opening discussion with teens and that they're well done.
But it's really up to each family if something is good for discussion, allowed for pure entertainment or not allowed as not being good for their family. Even those of like mind in many things will have a different take on things like this for their particular family made up of their particular kids with their particular strengths and struggles.

Kathryn, I just came across this review this morning. I haven't read the books, but it certainly doesn't sound as if I want to based on this review.

Thank you! Those are great resources and information. I still don't think we'll allow it here yet at these ages but I do like that we are discussing it and why I don't think it's appropriate now.
