Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have some birthday money to spend and I've been thinking about getting AYWG. My kids are 5,4 and 1. I really wanted it before I found this board and all of your lovely blogs (when you feel tired of posting on your blogs, please remember all the less-then-clever Moms like me that just LOVE them ). Now I'm wondering if it would be worth the money or if I should just stick to the free ideas here?

This is just my humble opinion - but I have it and I never use it, because I like the ideas presented here so much better. Granted, some of the ideas here may be *from* AYWG, but since it is presented step by step on blogs with color pictures and faces of people I've grown to love, they are just so much more appealing to me!

I do know other people that love it though.

I have it adn don't use it. I love this book so much more and it is so much cheeper. Sainlty Celebrations and Holy Holidays by Bernadetter McCarver Snyder
Another good one is Mrs Sharps Traditions, It is not a catholic book but a victorian Celebration book, but it seems to have alot of the feast days in it, like St. Lucia's breakfast, adn the Epiphany and such. I checked it out from the library.

I bought it last year. I used it a few times until I "discovered" this board, and I haven't used it since. It does have some good ideas in it, like the Liturgical Year wall calendar which we made. I agree with Amy's comment about the ideas being presented step by step on blogs with color pictures!
