Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used the pre-printed forms from Hold That Thought?

I decided since we have never notebooked before the forms might help us get started. My kids don't really like to draw (it takes too long ).

If you have used any of them:
  1. Do you like them?

  2. Do you use the history versions, the Bible history versions, both, others?

  3. Are they helpful or do you not bother to print them?

  4. Do the children like them?

  5. Do they like them better than plain paper?

Thank you for your input!

Blessings,
Krisann

Well, I took the plunge and bought the OT Bible pages and the NT Bible pages. I received them yesterday and so far they are great.

The only negative is they don't include the "Catholic" books of the Bible, but they do include lined pages with and without the picture box so you can still add pages from those books, they just won't have the pictures printed for you.

Some great features are:

  • They do NOT include scripture wording/words so you don't have to worry about which "version" is used

  • They DO include chapter and verse numbers so you can find the specific one you are looking for

  • They include blank maps, charts, etc.

  • The pictures help the kids to remember what to write about (mine can never remember )

  • They are made so kids can do scripture study on their own if you wish and they include an uncensored list of Who's Who in the OT/NT as well as a censored list in case your children are not ready for certain subjects

They shipped them very fast, I received them in just a few days. I definitely think they are worth the price especially since we are just starting out with notebooking and requiring more writing.

The best thing about using them today was they actually wrote more than I expected (as in filling out the whole page!). The bad thing was it took quite a while because they filled out the whole page - and I had given them 4 each!

I figured they would write one or two sentences each for "The Golden Calf," "Wandering in the Desert," "Balaam," and "a healing miracle draft sheet" for Miriam's healing from leprosy. They ended up writing two or three paragraphs each.    While this is really great, it did put us way behind for the day.

Anyway, I recommend them. I am thinking about getting the history ones next.

Blessings,
Krisann
