Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know of a **website** that gives moral reviews on books.

As my kids are getting older, it's hard to monitor everything myself. I like the kidsinmind.org website for movies. They give info on each and every kiss, sexual glance, bad word, etc. Does anyone know of a site like that for books?

Thanks
Leslie

Here is one done by a Catholic Homeschool Mom: Treasure Chest for Tweens. It is no longer being updated, but I use it still for recommendations. This link was posted here on 4Real some time ago and I thank whomever originally posted it!

Here is another that lays out information as you listed, but I don't remember the background of the reviewer:
What's In It? The Concerned Parent's Guide to YA Literature. I have found it useful in getting the flavor of some of the newer books that are being offered.

Oh, one more that was also posted here a while back: Mercator Book Reviews

Please pray for the mother who is responsible for this blog and the book reviews. She is a friend of mine and is currently fighting cancer, small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma.

Crisis Magazine has some book reviews for children (and adults) of various ages here.

I love Commonsense Media for reviews (http://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews) which tells you about anything that might not reach our standards under the title 'What Parents Need To Know' of each book.

One thing I love is if you roll your mouse over the 'Language'/'Violence & Scariness' etc in the above area it will go into more detail of what is written in the book that falls under that category - very handy for discernment. They also have an app for when you're out and about and need to reference it. :)
