Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to let you know I am so glad ya’ll are here! I haven’t been posting much, but that isn’t because it is all quiet over here. We are super busy...but I am really diving into some ernest planning for the Fall (did I hear a loud gasp from some of you organized girls who have it all scoped out for the year already?? ) I thought I was doing just straight MODG for the younger three this year. BUT....I started reading a lot of the CM discussions on here...and lots of Jen Mack’s blog.....and praying a lot...and feel this real call to go for a much more CM infused year than previous years. So many years we were just holding on for dear life. This year I feel like is sort of a “rebuilding” year again.....with our first starting college, another right on his tail...and Miss Lily all rarin’ to go with her kindergarten self.....my head is spinning. I see MODG as really nice, but I want to slooooow down....read a lot more great literature.....no grammar books and do much more nature study and journaling.
Is there anyone else out there that started very Charlotte Mason, and then started leaning towards a curriculum made by someone else...and then came back full circle several years later and went, “Oh...this feels like my home again!” That is sort of what I feel like, “Yeah, this is what we used to do!!” I haven’t ever abandoned the whole CM philosophy, but narrating has never been a strong point, but the more I read about narration I know it will naturally help with weak spots in a more organic way.

I’m rambling.....but I had to pop in and say thanks so much for sharing so much CM information....so much of your hard work and efforts....I do appreciate it!! AND.....just a minor Lily update....the girl is doing so well. She is Miss Social Butterfly.....talking really well, eating really well, and sings the sweetest Morning Offering ever. It melts me.

We are heading back to the CM direction this year. I started out with CM, but never was able to pull it together, but it was always tugging at my heart. We are finally back in business.

How exciting! Praying for you in this venture!

I'm still making my plans, too, so don't fret, 4 lads mom!

I'm so happy Lily is doing so well! That is great news!

Seems as if it is the year to get more CM-ish...I'm doing the same myself.    I'm working with Ambleside International to get a totally CM curriculum going here (we've done bits and pieces for many years, just not completely CM). I'm actually a bit nervous!
I need to find out from them what/how much I can share about what I learn from them, because some of the information they give me is restricted by my agreement with them--just not sure exactly what information that is!

I'm spending a LOT of time planning everything out, so I really hope I can share those plans with everyone. I'd be so happy if the plans could be used by more than just moi!

Yeah for you

I'm counting the weeks to get started again. I'm having a hard time keeping my girls away from my piles of books that they'll be using

I'm so glad you're here, 4 lads mom!    You inspire me with your fresh energy and renewed enthusiasm! And that sweet Miss Lily always brings a smile to my face!

What a delight to share Charlotte Mason with each other! I can't wait to see how your plans and year unfold, friend! By the way....I never worry about timing!!! Ever!! I do my best to consider what is best for our family, to plan from there, and then don't stress about the reality of when we really get plans underway because I figure I'm doing my best and leaving plenty of room for God to trump my plans! Which He HAS DONE!!!

So excited for you, friend!!

I am so, so happy with Mater Amabilis It has really, really been an amazing help for me this year. Michele, I am forever grateful for the hard work you and Kathryn have put into this endeavor. What a blessing for us all.

I also have found Simply Charlotte Mason to be wonderful as well. I know these have been named many times on this forum, but I wanted to thank these ladies for working so hard on great material.

Thanks, Jen!! I have gleaned so much from your blog as well...I have had multiple tabs open for a week now researching and such. I was up waaaayyy too late last might after reading your “big picture” part...it just “clicked” for me...and I was off!! Plan on this weekend ( God willing) getting things on paper in a coherent form. Thanks for your encouragement. I am not going to worry, you are right, I am more excited than anything. It is so nice to feel that again...excitement about starting school
By the way...Lily saw the Happy Dancing Banana..and kept dancing around the office, and I was like, “What are you doing?” and she said, “I am a happy dancin’ banana!! I just love that thing!!”

We are getting more and more CM each year, too. It just seems to make more and more sense the more we school.

So glad to have you ladies!
