Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used explode the code online? I've never looked at it until now because it's $65 for a 12 month subscription. But then I probed and noticed a few things. If you pay, you get access to all 8 books. What's more, the subscription is flexible so that if one student finishes, another can take his place.

I'm not sure the kids can work at different levels simultaneously on just one subscription... anyone know?

Still, the workbooks are 8 or 9 bucks a piece so you can see how this would be beneficial pricing, ESPECIALLY if you have multiple kids using it.

I have one child who has 2 books to go (he doesn't really need more phonics instruction, he just likes EtC). One other child with 4 books to go. And another who's just starting up on book 1.

This might be an extremely frugal purchase if I think of it in that way... and the kids love electronic learning as much as I'm not the biggest fan.

Still, the workbooks are a nice "carschooling" item and I wonder if they're just a better medium all around.

Any experience here?

I use it for my dd. She doesn't exactly love it, but she doesn't hate it either, and it gets the job done.
The thing about ETC online is that it tracks your child's progress as he/she completes an exercise, and automatically offers the next exercise at the proper level depending on how your child did on the previous, which is really great. The child can move ahead quickly, or repeat exercises as many times as needed. But,if multiple children use the same account, then that feature would not work well. There is an option for the teacher to manually assign which lessons the child does each day, so that might work for you for multiple kids.

Can't you get a discount at Homeschool Buyer's co-op?
