Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone tell me about these books(Comprehensive Composition,Critical Conditioning, Science Scope and Maximum Math)?I have the Guides to History Plus and Natural Speller and love both of these.
I am considering buying the above listed but would like some opinions.
Thanks,
Darlene

Darlene,

I like having Sciencescope as a reference to give me an idea of what kids are expected to know about a given topic at different levels. It helps me decide on goals when I am not using a textbook -- which is before 7th or 8th grade and sometimes later. I used her spelling book for a while before using Spelling Power. I bought a couple of other of her books but never used them. I have only briefly looked at Maximum Math. It would be useful if you want to work without a text or to make sure that whatever program you buy covers everything you want.

Her guides are pretty thorough and cost effective. The downside is that they require more work on the part of Mom. (Money and time are often trade offs in hsing, I've noticed.....)

In Christ,
Deborah

I have Comprehensive Composition and Science Scope. I find them helpful as source books to look for ideas and get a sense of what things are appropriate to cover at different ages. I think they would be very useful for a person who loves to put together unit studies and can pull in different things from different sources. I have trouble doing this so have not utilized her books as much as I could have.
