Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey everyone. I am new here. I am trying to figure out what a "Rabbit trail" is. Is this explained more in the book?

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids ages 10, 5, 2, and 1. We have done classical and Seton. I'm interested in what I see on the website but would like to know what's in the book. I might order it. Maybe it could help me get a different feel for things. Thanks!

A Rabbit Trail is when you find an interest, for example you may be reading a book about Louis Braille to the children and you all become rather enthused. This may led to many 'offshoots', you may look and try to write Braille, you may read about Helen Keller. The children may spend the day 'being blind'etc the options are limitless.

Some Rabbit Trails become rather indepth, some may be short lasting.

What 'book' do you refer too?

I was referring to the book "Real Learning" that is advertised on this site> I thought this message board was for people who are using the book to homeschool. Kind of like the well trained mind message board is for people using that book to homeschool. Am I wrong? Oooops!!

The author of " Real Learning", Elizabeth Foss, is the lady who began and owns these boards. Most people here have read the book and loved it. But there is a huge mix of homeschooling styles here, from Seton to unschooling. Real learning can happen anywhere in the spectrum!

Welcome aboard!
