Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello all! I'm hoping to get some suggestions for a 50 minute activity group session that I will be leading in 2 weeks. The children range in age from young 2's to 5's.
Something along the lines of a song, book, craft combo that might work with 10 preschooler?
I'd love some ideas from greater minds than mine

Thanks!

Noreen, do you have a theme, a saint day, or any guidelines like that?

Not really. It seems to be wide open. But, this is a 'non-sectarian' group, so I'm need to keep it not overtly Catholic

I think it would probably be easier if there was a theme of some type then it would be pretty easy to come up with crafts, games, song, maybe even snacks. For that age group there are so many fun things you can do: winter ideas, transportation, animals, etc. Then you could either divide the group into different stations so the kids can do different acitvities at each time or all together.

Hi Noreen,

You might find some ideas at this preschool website. It's secular (you mentioned this is not a Catholic group) and has tons of pre-K activities!

I used to organize the 4-5s group at our homeschool coop. Themes that worked for us were nature/seasons, "our community" and countries of the world.

You could do something on the Olympics ~ countries of the world, sports, Italy etc.
