Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What age would you want your daughter to be before you showed her Tales from Avonlea? My dd7 wants to watch it. Wondering if it would be better if we waited a few more years, or if now is a good time. It's been forever since I've seen them myself!

well my grandson who is 3yo used to watch Road to Avonlea & Emily of New Moon with me when I babysat him . I could only take so much of MAX * Ruby this was when I'd put him down for his nap so he really wasn't watching .
Really 7yo I'm not sure if she may not have proper understanding of some of the story lines . I know Emily of New Moon for sure is to old for a 7yo some story lines touch on unplanned pregnancy , adultry, child abuse etc.

Its been a long time since I've seen them, Sarah, but I remember really liking them. I remember them as being sweet and full of innocence and humor. Can you borrow one from Netflix or the library and preview it if you're concerned?    I'd let my 7yo watch it. I enjoyed them very much!

We loved this series! I can't think of anything scary or inappropriate in this series. There are circumstances that could be scary if a child is sensitive, like the time Sarah is kidnapped, but it was very, very mild.

I just loved Aunt Janet's kitchen! Sometimes I wished the characters would just move out of the way so I could get a good look at the house.

Speaking of the Avonlea series, I see Kevin Sullivan released a new Anne movie, "Anne of Green Gables, A New Beginning". I wonder if it's any good?? I could hardly sit through "The Continuing Story", they changed so much of the story!

Boy, I disliked that one, too. I hadn't heard about the newest one. I might have to watch it once just cause, lol.

Oh good. I'm so glad! I've been wanting to put it on for her, but haven't quite had the time to preview it, and just couldn't seem to remember if there were any heavy themes.

I know what we'll be doing later this week when it rains all day....
