Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for some support from those who are using this curriculum this year. We are starting slowly, as our youngest is almost 6 weeks now. :-)

I am still in the process of gathering my resources and getting the flow/idea of this.
We watched the Winona Ryder version of Little Women, and loved it. My daughter keeps telling me to stop calling my four girls my little women, but I can't help it! We watched parts of the 1933 and 1949 versions, but didn't like them much at all!! The parts we watched didn't follow the book very well. Elizabeth Taylor as a blonde was weird, and Jo was too pretty in one version. I love Kathryn Hepburn as Jo, but my girls didn't care for her. The dialog is so fast in old movies.

I think it is great to read The Baby Book with a new baby. :-)

I am looking forward to using this curriculum with my daughter. It is just what I was looking for.

Are all of you enjoying it? What works for you/doesn't work for you?

I would love to see some examples of the girls' work and pics of projects/household journals, etc.
I am not sure where we could share files. Yahoo groups has that capability. Is anyone interested in having a group to share ideas?

I hope to hear from many of you soon.

Your sister in Christ,

Leocea

My dd has been using it for a few weeks with some tweaks for her age/interests (she's 10) and has been enjoying herself. We're doing it in a very relaxed fashion, but she's generally very motivated. I can do a blog post about it, if you'd like and link back here... you might have to give me a few days to put it together, though.

Here are 2 4real threads that go along with Literature for a Young Lady:

Oh! Just remembered... Elizabeth's post In Real Life is a very helpful companion to what Serendipity (in general, as well as the Sunflower basket) looks like "in real life". I enjoyed her post very much.

We won't be starting until February. That is when dd turns 11, and hopefully we will have gathered a few more books.

Paula,

I am still working on getting my books together, lol.
We are trying to get into the groove of schooltime, after having a baby 7 weeks ago , and now having my mother-in-law on hospice.
It is hard to find time to research books, let alone find time to order them. The library only has a couple of them.
So far, Caitlin is reading The Baby Book, and narrating it to me. We will be researching victorian fashions and family life. She is also reading Little Women, and narrating that too. I am having her plan a fall lesson for her younger sisters tomorrow. I do not have Mommy Teach Me, but am using Everything for Fall from the library. .
I thought I would have a full day here tomorrow, but I have a toothache, so off to the dentist I go.

I have a new blog, but haven't posted yet. I plan on it.
